Jam with our Jams
Attempts to set the mood on our office floor without being on the office floor
The most common compliment/complaint we hear from any visitor to any of our offices is simply how loud it is.
These incorrigible muckrakers include our own client servicing teams channelling their inner speed walker on call with clients; it includes clients who visit our offices who are, unknowingly, entering a discotheque; it includes our strategy folks who think of their work as deep work.
Yep. The analogy which strikes you when you leave our offices is that it’s more a concert setup with 5 different stages, each with its own genre convoluting the soundscape, instead of an office. It’s Apple Watch decibel meter unfriendly, it’s messy, but it works — just like great creative work.
Aside from the complaints, tastemakers in music would totally set the mood in the office. Lo-fi beats = Friday evening. Bollywood beats = Diwali party night. For some, it was even a music discovery platform—the source of new music. (This post’s author included.) People would often be left with no option but to Shazam a song played 30 times on repeat which just wouldn’t get out of their heads.
We love music so much our brainstorm sessions are even entitled jams/jam sessions/jamming. Now, hopefully that demystifies the title of this post.
To cut to the chase, we’ve been sorely missing new music. What would be a walk down the aisle to discover music is now plagued by notification sounds, the ominous ring of Microsoft Teams, or, god forbid, a phone call.
So today, awesome tastemakers at Dentsu Webchutney are launching a new playlist on Spotify. Handpicked by award-winning creatives. We hope in some way, it represents who we are, what we listen to — and perhaps a series of recommendations for your next song on autoplay. Enjoy. And jam responsibly.
