That Instagram Bug
Fun? On Instagram? Without Us? Nah.
Last night Indian Standard Time, Instagram had a tiny bug which broke its ~precious~ and ~curated~ aspect ratio.
It was to be just another evening working from home: one where we’re all scrolling our feeds, winding down for the day. That’s until pablo.rochat showed up with a nifty little trick borrowed from the house of aesethtics.
It gave us more than our usual pangs of FOMO on a potentially blistering trend. So our best and brightest minds immediately picked it up for our dearly beloved, YouTube India. Y’know. For kicks.

Within minutes, 300 comments.
Within a few more minutes, 11000+ likes.
Within a couple of hours, upon learning it was treated to some bug fixes, we decided to archive it for good like any good internet samaritan.
This quickly became our most engaging post on the platform, ever. It was on fire. How fire, you ask? A 47%+ rate of engagement. Unprecedented.
The experiment and these numbers are too good to not share. It will have been an inside joke that a 12 member team would otherwise cherish, and where’s the fun in that, really?
For now, fly away, little Instagram bug. For a brief moment in time you perplexed thousands of people, including us. Until we find another just like you.
ps: we love Instagram. This was our 20th big engagement post, pushing the boundaries of the platform for branded content. Until we start adulting on the app, stay safe.
